5th Joint Meeting on Adolescence Medicine November, 10th – 12th 2011 – Catanzaro, Italy

(Comitè de Adolescencia de Asociaciòn Latinoamericana de Pediatria), SEMA
(Sociedad Espanola de Medicina de la Adolescencia) and SIMA (Società Italiana di Medicina dell’Adolescenza),has organized the 5th edition of the Joint Meeting on Adolescence Medicine. An event which is going to be of extreme scientific significance, where the most important international expertises will be discussing topical subjects on adolecescence medicine, chronic diseases, and psycho-social problems. Concerning this last topic, the attention will be focused on communication with adolescents and assistance problems, which are typical of this span of human life. The Workshop opens the meeting dealing with the issue of GH treatement in adolescence: experts will face the main problems of diagnosis.
Further on, a Training Module focusing on “outpatient ultrasound” will be held;
the module is reserved to a maximum number of 25 registered attendees.
The discussion will continue on the most frequent endocrine pathologies and
risky behaviours to which adolescents are daily exposed.
The event will be attended by researchers from the following countries:
Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Qatar, the Republic of
Chile, Spain, Switzerland, Uruguay. Therefore, I do believe and trust that our city, our province, will be the setting for another important step towards the achievement of tolerance, peace, and well-being of our adolescents.
Anche quest’anno la nostra associazione, di concerto con le società scientifiche MAGAM (Mediterranean and Middle East Action Group of Adolescence Medicine), ALAPE (Comitè de Adolescencia de Asociaciòn Latinoamericana de Pediatria), SEMA (Sociedad Espanola de Medicina de la Adolescencia) e SIMA (Società Italiana di Medicina dell’Adolescenza), ha organizzato il 5° Joint Meeting on Adolescence Medicine. Un evento che si preannuncia di grande interesse scientifico in cui verranno trattati, dai maggiori esponenti internazionali, temi di grande attualità nell’ambito della medicina dell’adolescenza, delle malattie croniche e delle problematiche psicosociali. Si è voluto focalizzare l’attenzione sulla comunicazione con gli adolescenti e sulle problematiche assistenziali, tipiche di questo periodo della vita. Si inizierà con un Workshop dedicato al trattamento con l’ormone della crescita in età adolescenziale nel corso del quale si affronteranno le principali problematiche. Seguirà un modulo formativo, a numero chiuso, in ecografia ambulatoriale. I lavori proseguiranno affrontando le più frequenti patologie endocrine dell’età adolescenziale e i comportamenti a rischio più frequentemente adottati dai giovani. Hanno dato la loro adesione ricercatori provenienti dai seguenti paesi: Italia, Argentina, Brasile, Cipro, Egitto, Grecia, Israele, Qatar, Repubblica del Chile, Spagna, Svizzera, Uruguay. Ho quindi l’ambizione di confidare che nella nostra città possa essere scritta, ancora una volta, una bella pagina che contribuisca al benessere dei nostri adolescenti.
